Ages 5-6 (Kindergarten)

This class builds on the foundation of Music Makers at Home, though it is not required to have taken the previous class. Students are encouraged to explore music in an increasingly structured way. Topics include recognition of rhythm and tonal patterns, playing in ensemble, using timbre and articulation, and using written notation. We will cover units on the music of the British Isles and Germany. In the spring, students are invited to continue into piano class offered at the same weekly time.
 
Materials include folder, song pages, notation games, and CD/download for two units: British Isles and Germany.
